- RIYADH: The General Directorate of Health affairs of Riyadh Province discovered 12,000 violations in medical establishments over the past three years.
The total fine imposed on the violating establishments touched SR11,118,000, Dr. Adnan Abdul Kareem, director general of the directorate, said.
He added that in many cases health establishments were shuttered until violations are corrected.
The common violations in the province's health establishments include offering medical service before obtaining license, irregularities in the disposal of medical wastes, poor sterilization and maintenance of equipment, poor standards for mandatory medical checkup for expatriates, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
