“The tremendous response from domestic and international trade exhibitors and visitors has opened a whole new range of business opportunities and highlighted the huge market potential of Saudi Arabia as far as vehicles, trucks passenger cars and spare parts are concerned,” said Mohammed Al-Hussaini, deputy general manger of Riyadh Exhibitions Company.

He added that Saudi Arabia is particularly important for industry players who are looking to expand their international performance to growth areas. There were a total 61 exhibitors from nine countries, which included Saudi Arabia, Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

“The impressive number of exhibitors and the big number of visitors bespeak well of the huge success of the event, making us look forward to the next exhibition,” he said.

He added that being the largest market in the region and the fifth largest market in the world for auto parts, accessories and garage equipment, Saudi Arabia remains a vary lucrative destination for investors, distributors and dealers of vehicles and auto parts.

The Riyadh Motor Show displayed the latest models of passenger cars, station wagons, Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), pickup trucks, motorcycles, Special Purpose Vehicles, and 4X4 vehicles. It also featured automobile financing and insurance services.

While Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, among others, showed their latest models and top-of-the line cars, Renault showed its brand-new Safrane.

“The Renault Safrane is a flagship model for the brand, and the new model has improved upon its successes and strengths of previous models, bringing fantastic a high-end, luxury saloon for the GCC market,” said Renault’s Managing Director Mustansir Lakdawala.

“Saudi Autoshop 2010 presented the latest automobile accessories and repair service equipment, gas station equipment, automobile parts, tires, exhausts and batteries, and automobile care products," he added.
