The workshop, being held at the Lecture Center in Abraq Al-Raghama in Jeddah, is meant for traffic policemen who have been instructed to be on guard for drivers and passengers who toss their rubbish from their cars in complete disregard of common decency and social contract. The workshop and lectures come as part of the joint initiative of Jeddah Municipality and the Traffic Department to raise awareness about their efforts to ticket selfish litterbugs.  Since its implementation early 2010, about 16,000 tickets have been registered through the first week of October. The fine for littering is SR150, and those trying to leave the country, even on exit-reentry visas could be prevented from doing so for any unpaid traffic violations. It is important for those traveling abroad to make sure they do not have pending traffic violations before passing through immigration. In order to ensure full cooperation of non-Arab expatriates in the success of the campaign, billboards in many languages have been posted across the city.
