Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points and Jason Terry hit two big 3-pointers in the final 2½ minutes. Terry finished with 19 for Dallas, which won despite giving up a 17-0 run in the first half and a 13-0 run in the third quarter.

Dwyane Wade scored 22 points to lead Miami.

In San Antonio, the home team’s winning streak reached nine with a victory over undermanned Phoenix.

Tim Duncan had 20 points and 15 rebounds while Gary Neal scored 22 off the bench for the Spurs, who improved the NBA’s best record to 24-3 and are one victory from their second double-digit winning streak already this season.

Jared Dudley had 27 points for the Suns, who were still waiting to unite with trade acquisitions Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat and Mickael Pietrus. They’re expected to be ready for Phoenix’s next game Thursday against Miami.

In Atlanta, the hosts rolled over reconstructed Orlando.

Orlando, which hasn’t had time to practice since acquiring Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu on Saturday, struggled to find an offensive flow all night.

After setting a season low with 14 points in the first quarter, the Magic were held without a field goal for the first 8 minutes of the final period as the Hawks lead reached 17. Al Horford scored 24 points to lead Atlanta.

Dwight Howard had 19 points and 20 rebounds, but too little help, for Orlando.

In Indianapolis, Mike Dunleavy’s tip-in at the buzzer gave Indiana a victory over New Orleans.

The Hornets had taken the lead on a jumper by David West with 3.9 seconds left. Indiana’s Danny Granger’s long shot rattled around the rim, and Dunleavy was uncontested for the rebound under the hoop. The officials reviewed the play and the basket stood.

Granger led the Pacers with 27 points. Darren Collison scored 18 points in his first game against his old team.

Emeka Okafor had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Hornets, who lost their sixth straight road game.

In Cleveland, Utah beat Cleveland, moving coach Jerry Sloan into a tie with Pat Riley for the third-most wins in NBA history.

Sloan, Utah’s coach since 1988, has 1,210 victories. Up next is Lenny Wilkens (1,332) and Don Nelson (1,335).

During Sloan’s long run, which began before Jazz rookie Gordon Hayward was born, there have been 234 coaching changes across the league.

CJ Miles scored 22 points, Paul Millsap and Raja Bell added 19 apiece as the Jazz improved to 11-1 against Eastern Conference teams.

Daniel Gibson scored a career-high 29 for the Cavaliers, who have lost 11 of 12.

In Portland, LaMarcus Aldridge had 29 points and a career-high 19 rebounds as Portland shook off injury problems to rout Milwaukee.

Wesley Matthews added 22 points for the Blazers, who have won three in a row and had only eight players dressed after losing Dante Cunningham four minutes in.

John Salmons scored 14 of his 23 points in the third quarter for the Bucks, who have lost three in a row.

In Oakland, Kevin Martin made a tying basket and a go-ahead 3-pointer in crunch time on the way to 30 points as Houston defeated Golden State.

Luis Scola had 20 points with a key late jump hook, nine rebounds and six assists for the Rockets, who have won five of six.

Golden State’s Monta Ellis scored 44 points — nine straight during a key fourth-quarter spurt — for his third 40-point game of the season. He added seven assists, but the Warriors lost for the 14th time in 16 games.

In Washington, the hosts limited Charlotte to one field goal in the third quarter and snapped a seven-game losing streak.

Nick Young scored 21 points for the Wizards, undermanned while No. 1 pick John Wall remained injured and Rashard Lewis was unavailable after coming in a trade from Orlando.

Washington used a 21-2 run to start the third quarter to achieve its biggest victory since 2005-06.

Charlotte set a franchise low by getting only Boris Diaw’s layup with 10:13 left in the third.

In Los Angeles, Eric Gordon scored a season-high 36 points as Los Angeles handed Minnesota its sixth straight loss.

Blake Griffin added 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Clipper, who were coming off successive road wins and carried that onto a home court where they had lost three straight.

Michael Beasley scored 20 points for the Timberwolves, who completed a six-game trip with their 12th straight road loss.
