- LONDON: Public borrowing in the United Kingdom rose to a one-month record in November at 23.3 billion pounds ($36.1 billion), higher than forecast.
The figure released Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics beat the previous one-month high of 21.1 billion pounds in December 2009.
Public borrowing for the year beginning in April now stands at 104 billion pounds, broadly in line with the government’s projections and matching borrowing in the previous year.
