- JEDDAH: Around 20 women employed by the Saudi travel agent, Kanoo Travel, have completed telephone operation training and are now operating the company's first and exclusive ladies-only call center.
Speaking about the call center, Ali Abdullah Kanoo, director of Kanoo Travel, said the company is one of the first travel agents in the Kingdom to have a ladies-only call center.
"Kanoo Travel is also one of the first travel companies in the country to introduce exclusive ladies centers," he said. "Kanoo Travel offers customers in Saudi Arabia a wide range of services which include state-of-the-art self booking tools and online travel management solutions for corporate customers, which help them save time and money by automating travel policy and quality control including travel security," he said.
Othman Al-Ghamdi, Kanoo Travel's general manager, said the call center has been widely appreciated across the Kingdom due to the high standards of services offered.
"Kanoo Travel encourages local talent, be it male or female, to join the travel industry by providing them tools, training and encouragement to be the leaders of tomorrow. Our motto is to offer international quality services with a local touch. Kanoo Travel not only offers corporate based packages but has also been creating attractive leisure and holiday packages for locals and expatriates in the Kingdom," said Al-Ghamdi.
"Saudi Arabia is a very important market for Kanoo Travel. Over the last few years, our business has grown tremendously in the country and we want to ensure that we offer our customers best-in-class professional travel management services using the latest technology with the best customer service. The opening of our new offices across the country is another example of our commitment toward our ever increasing base of customers in the Kingdom," said Abdullah Abo Khamseen, Kanoo Travel's executive general manager.
Saudi-based Kanoo Travel is considered one of the Kingdom's largest travel management companies in the Middle East; the company's history goes back to 1937 when it used to provide refueling facilities in Bahrain for Imperial Airways seaplanes on route to India and Australia. In 1947, Kanoo Travel became the first IATA agency in the Gulf, and in 1997 it became the very first travel company in the Middle East to receive the ISO certification.
