- TAIF: A woman dropped charges against her 30-year-old son for pushing her out of the house in Taif's Al-Mothanna district and demanding SR1,000 before he would let them in again.
When the man's two sisters arrived to see their mother in tears, the son refused to let them in the house as well.
The mother called police and they mediated an agreement that the mother would drop the charges in return for a confession and a signed pledge from the son not to repeat his offense.
In Saudi Arabia, parents can file police complaints against their children for disobeying them.
The written pledge can be used against the man if he repeats his offense, which could land him in jail.
The mother retracted her complaint after her son provided the confession and signed the pledge.
