- JEDDAH: The bodies of four Saudi men who drowned in Al-Lith, in the south of the Makkah Province, were recovered Friday.
- The men were reported missing in flash floods in the area on Thursday.
“Two bodies were found in Wadi Al-Rouda by a search team comprising Civil Defense officials and local residents. The other two bodies were found close by in Wadi Al-Ayar,” said Saeed Al-Mahabi, a resident of Al-Lith.
A Bangladeshi man was also rescued in a valley in the area on Friday evening, said Al-Mahabi, adding that the situation in the area became worse when water started overflowing at a dam that is currently under construction in Al-Lith.
He said the Civil Defense rescued a number of people from floodwaters that ravaged the city, adding that only a few people needed medical help.
