- GAZA CITY: Israeli soldiers backed by warplanes entered east of Khan Younis city in the southern of the Gaza Strip amid a cover of intensive gunfire, witnesses said on Monday.
They said that the Israeli troops entered tens of meters into the outskirts of Khuza village, and the accompanying bulldozers razed agricultural land. The troops fired intensively toward the neighboring houses.
Local sources said no one was injured during the limited invasion but students in neighboring schools fled their classes to avoid causalities.
Meanwhile, Al-Nasser brigades the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees said in a statement that their fighters confronted the invading troops and fired a mortar shell at them.
