The youth is currently being held at Jeddah’s juvenile center. He and an older male suspect who escaped from officers attempted to break into the empty yard, police said.

“The incident occurred at 10 a.m. When the tenant saw the pair stealing his belongings, he was quick to contact police, which resulted in the capture of the teenager and we are still on the lookout for the other suspect,” said police spokesman Col. Misfer Al-Juaid.

Meanwhile, three illegal Yemeni nationals were arrested in Al-Samer neighborhood, east of Jeddah, on suspicion of breaking into a small shop, stealing mobile phone cards and SR2,800 worth of cash belonging to a 29-year-old Saudi man.

“At around one in the morning, the three suspects broke through the shop’s glass front. The shop owner contacted police, who investigated the area and arrested the three suspects,” said Al-Juaid.

All three individuals have been held at Al-Samer police station pending investigations.
