In Sunrise, Florida, the home team edged Nashville, halting the Predators' winning run at six games.

In Glendale, Arizona, Shane Doan scored the first of four third-period goals that pushed Phoenix to a comfortable win over Toronto.

Toronto's Colby Armstrong got his team's sole goal with 3:52 left as the Leafs' winning streak stopped at four.

In Buffalo, Cody McCormick scored the go-ahead goal, got into a fight and drew a key penalty in Buffalo's victory over Carolina.

In Uniondale, New York, Ottawa snapped a six-game winless streak by defeating fellow struggler New York.
