Witnesses said that the Israeli artillery positioned near Jablaiya refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip bombarded east of the camp with several shells.

Gaza emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Selmiya named the victim as 17-year-old Amjad Al-Zaanein, saying he died after being hit by Israeli tank fire near the northern town of Jabaliya.

Earlier on Tuesday several Israeli tanks crossed few hundreds of meters into northern and southern Gaza Strip, witnesses and official sources said.

The sources said that four Israeli bulldozer accompanied by three tanks entered around 400 meters into the outskirts of Beit Hanoun on Tuesday morning, where the bulldozers started to raze the civilians properties. No casualties were reported during the incursion.

Meanwhile, an Israeli force unit backing an Israeli bulldozer entered east of Rafah city in southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday. Al-Nasser brigades the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees said in a statement that their fighters confronted the invading forces and fired five mortar shells at the Israeli vehicles.

Witnesses said that the invading troops razed agricultural land in the area while it fired intensively toward the civilians houses. No one was reportedly injured during the limited incursion.

This new Israeli military escalation came after a short period of calm after the ruling Hamas movement held intensive discussions with the Palestinian political factions to halt homemade and mortar shells into Israel in order not to give any excuse to Israel to launch a military offensive against the coastal enclave in the future.

But despite the Hamas attempts, Israel said that a homemade rocket landed in Western Negev territories in southern Israel on Monday night without damage.

Israel and Hamas are formally committed to a cease-fire agreed after Israel's devastating 22-day war on Gaza two years ago. But in recent months, armed Palestinian groups have fired dozens of rockets into southern Israel, prompting retaliatory airstrikes by the Israeli military.
