- TAIF: A traffic police officer was left injured after being attacked by two Saudi brothers while issuing one of them a fine for parking his vehicle in the wrong place.
The officer had asked the driver for his ID to issue him a fine. The driver said he had left it at home and said he would return with it. He, however, returned a short while later with his elder brother.The brother asked the police officer to write the fine in his name, saying he owns the car. The officer refused saying the fine had to be in the younger brother’s name. A heated discussion ensued after which the two brothers attacked the policeman.The officer was injured in the head and taken to King Faisal Hospital for treatment. The two brothers were charged with affray and taken to Al-Faisaliyyah Police Station.Meanwhile, two drunken men in Taif attacked two police officers who asked them to stop their car. The men tried to escape after the assault, but were arrested. Police found bottles of alcohol inside the car. Both men were taken to Al-Faisaliyyah Police Station for questioning.
