Turkish websites reported that the arrested suspect Waleed Abdullah Ibrahim bin Barghas, is the 50th in the list of 85 wanted terrorists issued by the Saudi authorities on February 2009, and reportedly left the Kingdom in 2006.

The arrest of the suspect followed secret reports about an imminent strike by a terrorist in the southern Turkish city of Adana, the nature of which Turkish authorities did not disclose. Adana is a major agricultural and commercial center overlooking the Seyhan River, 30 kilometers inland from the Mediterranean Sea, in south-central Anatolia. It is the administrative seat of Adana province and has a population of 1.56 million, making it the fifth most populous city in Turkey.

Barghas, in his 30s, belongs to a family in the town of Tamir in Sudair, north of Riyadh, and is believed to have connections with Al-Qaeda inside and outside the Kingdom and visited Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan.

The most-wanted list now stands at 72, two of them Yemeni nationals.

Interpol issued an alert to police worldwide two weeks ago, after the Kingdom asked Interpol for its help in tracking 47 terror suspects beyond its borders. Saudi officials have said the men, ages 18 to 40, are believed to be outside of the country.
