Minister of Industry and Commerce Rachid Mohammed Rachid told reporters Sunday the situation in Tunisia and its reverberation throughout the region “worries lots of people» and “raises questions about political stability.” Rachid instructed assistants to issue daily statements about new foreign investment to give a reassuring message.

Last week, Egypt's stock market dropped 8 percent. There are plans for demonstrations in Egypt Tuesday to demand political reforms, and organizers say they are drawing inspiration from Tunisia.
