- DAMMAM: A Saudi who is thought to be mentally ill tried to commit suicide by dousing his clothes in petrol and setting himself on fire at a fuel station in the Qadisiyya district of Dammam on Monday.
Lt. Col. Mansour Al-Dosary, spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Eastern Province, said the man who is in his 40s suffered second-degree burns to his face, arms, neck and abdomen.
“He was taken to hospital and was saved. Doctors at the hospital said he showed signs of mental disorder,” Al-Dosary said, adding that an investigation has been launched.
