Beluga Group spokeswoman Verena Beckhusen said Tuesday the container ship MV Beluga Nomination was attacked by pirates Monday.

She declined to elaborate.

The company’s website says the MV Beluga Nomination is 433 feet (132 meters) long.

Somali pirates — operating more broadly than ever in the Indian Ocean — currently hold more than 30 vessels and 746 crew members of various nationalities, according to a recent report by the International Maritime Bureau.
