More than 15,000 local olive farmers have been invited to participate in the event.  Jouf province has more than 13 million olive trees and produces more than 70,000 tons of olives and 50,000 tons of olive oil. Jouf olive oil won sixth place in the Biofach 2008 international competition held in Germany.  The Saudi Credit Bank has given soft loans to a number of farmers to purchase oil grinders from Italy. According to scientific experiments, the olive oil extracted from the olive trees in Jouf is among the best in the world.
