In his annual address to the Parliament, Zardari asked  for  the  promotion  of  inter-faith harmony  and  said such acts were   harmful  to  inter-faith   harmony.

The Christian preacher Terry Jones, who after international condemnation last year canceled a plan to burn copies of the Qur’an to mark the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, supervised the burning of the book in front of a crowd of about 50 people at an obscure church in Florida on Sunday, according to his website.

Zardari said Pakistan expects that the US administration and the American people as well as all civilized societies to take due cognizance and express their revulsion against this sacrilegious act.
