The Under-19 tourney, sponsored by Arab News and organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association, will be played on a round robin basis with each team taking each other twice with the top two teams qualifying for the final. Simultaneously there will be an Under-15 tournament with the top two qualifying for the final.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss Middle East were bowled out for 114 off 16.4 overs. The main run getters were Usman (19), Waheed (14) and Zubair (12). Bangladesh had their rivals under pressure right from the start as wickets kept on falling at regular intervals. Shafiq was the most impressive taking 3 for 16 off three overs. Khalid and Mehran bagged two wickets each.

Bangladesh achieved their target for the loss of only three wickets.  Khalid Hussain dazzled with the bat and scored an unbeaten 43 while Mahruf was not out with 26.

Khalid was the Man of the match.

Earlier during the opening ceremony, the RCA executive committee members were introduced to both the teams' management, which had players from different nationalities.

Aasif Sheikh, general secretary of RCA said, "I am pleased that the game was played with good spirit and I hope the players take this opportunity provided by the RCA to show off their talent."
