- RIO DE JANEIRO: Brazilian mining firm Vale has not received any requests from clients in Japan to cancel iron ore cargoes following a massive earthquake and tsunami there, Investor Relations Director Roberto Castello Branco said.
He said there could be eventual reductions in sales to Japan but that they would be offset by stronger volumes from China and Korea.
He added the company expects Japan’s recovery from the March earthquake to be slower than the recovery from the one in 1995.
