The service, operating three times a week, will be flown by Boeing 737-700 extended-range aircraft.

Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Samer Majali told guests at a ceremony to launch the route that it was hoped that it would attract business and leisure travelers from the Middle East and from Switzerland.

It demonstrated the company’s commitment “to connect Bahrain to the region and the rest of the world, including some of the leading financial markets, and to support Bahrain’s financial services and trade sector,” Majali said.
