To make homemade pasta tomato sauce with garlic all you need is fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic, tomato paste, olive oil, bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste. Ingredients you probably have in the house anyway. You can use a tin of chopped tomatoes if you wish but theses too contain salt.

You will notice that your own homemade ingredients list does not contain chemical additives like sulphites (a preservative); calcium chloride (a thickener); or citric acid contained in most ready-made jars of pasta sauce.

Your homemade version tastes much fresher and you can make the homemade basic sauce even more interesting by adding your favorite herbs. Homes made sauces are infused with love, it is better for the whole family’s heart and nothing tastes as good.

Ingredients:

In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion until softened, usually about 4-5 mins. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Add the remaining ingredients and cook uncovered for about 15 mins. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

To this basic sauce you can add a few of your own fresh ingredients such as chopped basil.

It’s hard to be healthy if you don’t cook at home. When you cook your own you know what you are eating. In a restaurant you have no idea how much salt and fat has gone into your meal to make it taste good. With a little planning you can enjoy the simple art of preparing a healthy food bursting with life freshness and taste.

There are two types of vitamins: Fat-soluble and water-soluble. When you eat foods that contain fat-soluble vitamins, the vitamins are stored in the fat tissues in your body and in your liver. They wait around in your body fat until your body needs them. Fat-soluble vitamins are happy to stay stored in your body for a while — some stay for a few days, some for up to 6 months. Then, when it's time for them to be used, special carriers in your body take them to where they're needed. Vitamins A, D, E and K are all fat-soluble vitamins. Water-soluble vitamins are different: When you eat foods that have water-soluble vitamins, the vitamins don't get stored as much in your body. Instead, they travel through your bloodstream. Whatever your body doesn't use comes out when you urinate. These vitamins need to be replaced, as they are not stored in the body so you need a regular supply of vitamin C and of your B vitamins from your balanced diet. It is always advisable to get the vitamins you need by eating a healthy balanced diet you can e-mail me for a free healthy eating plan [email protected].
