The exhibition’s venue is on the Qurban Road opposite the Masjid Bilal.

The prince stressed the significance of book fairs, particularly with the participation of publishers from abroad.

The prince toured around the exhibition while officials briefed him on the books on display.

More than 200 publishers from 15 countries are participating in the event in which 240,000 works will be exhibited.

The prince commended the efforts of Taiba University in spreading the reading culture in various sections of society by organizing exhibitions.

A number of lectures and cultural events will also be organized on the sidelines of the exhibition.

“The exhibition aims at strengthening the culture of knowledge by bringing in works in diverse branches of knowledge. It will also encourage publishers and cultural establishments to increase the publication of translated works so that the local readers can keep pace with the developments in other parts of the world,” Taiba University Rector Muhammad Al-Nuzha said while speaking on the occasion.

He added that the exhibition would provide an opportunity for publishers, readers, officials of cultural and education departments to interact and hold dialogues and meetings.

The exhibition is open from 9 a.m to 12:30 p.m and 4:30 p.m to 11 p.m.
