- AGADIR, Morocco: David Horsey of England won a three-man playoff to earn his second European Tour title on Sunday, taking the Trophee Hassan II after hitting a hole in one during the final round.
Horsey was one shot ahead of defending champion Rhys Davies of Wales and Dutchman Jaco Van Zyl with one hole to play, only to be forced into a playoff after taking six shots.
Horsey won on the second playoff hole.
He had a perfect start to the day with a hole in one at the second which allowed him to take the lead after being tied with Davies overnight.
Houston Open
In Humble, Texas, PGA Tour rookie Chris Kirk shot a 3-under 69 to take a one-stroke lead over defending champion Anthony Kim and 2008 winner Johnson Wagner after two rounds at the Houston Open.
Kirk was 9-under par, and played his last few holes just as the wind picked up in the afternoon and made scoring more difficult. Kim shot a 64, the lowest round of the day, and Wagner had a 67.
Padraig Harrington (69), first-round leader Jimmy Walker (74) and Josh Teater (72) were 7 under.
The tournament has attracted several top players prepping for next week’s Masters.
Phil Mickelson (70) and Lee Westwood (72) were part of a large group at 4 under and Ernie Els (72) and Fred Couples (72) were among the players at 1 under.
Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic
In Saucier, Mississippi, Jeff Sluman matched the Fallen Oak record with a 6-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Tom Lehman in the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. Sluman holed a 9-iron shot from 154 yards for an eagle in his bogey-free round. Nick Price, David Frost and Dan Forsman were two strokes back at 68.
