- JEDDAH: The Kingdom’s drug enforcement agencies have foiled attempts to smuggle 1,123 kg of hashish, 11 kg of heroin and 7 million Captagon pills during the first three months of this year, it was reported on Monday.
The report said Saudi Customs seized 32,000 bottles of alcohol during the same period. Abdullah Al-Kharboush, spokesman of the Customs, emphasized his department’s cooperation with the Department for Combating Drugs.
Meanwhile, the border guards in Najran said they stopped an attempt to smuggle 323 kg of hashish and arrested 18 people who were behind the attempt. Police also confiscated the car used by the smugglers.
