- BAKU: Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja arrived in Azerbaijan Wednesday at the head of a Saudi delegation to attend the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, which opens in Baku Thursday.
The Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry said the conference would focus on strengthening cultural dialogue to achieve global peace.
The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mevlut Cavusoglu, will preside over the inaugural session titled “Toward a world without borders.” ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Altwaijri, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Senior Adviser to the UN Alliance of Civilizations Jean-Christophe Bas will also address the session.
The next session will focus on more meaningful dialogue in culture, arts and heritage and will be chaired by Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev. Director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Council of Europe Robert Palmer will address the session.
First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva will chair the third session titled “The role of women in intercultural dialogue.”
The Director of the UNESCO Division of Cultural Policies and Intercultural Dialogue, Katerina Stenou, will address the session.
