Mohammed Al-Tamimi, the spokesman of the Al-Nabi Saleh Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements, said that the Israeli forces also wounded two Palestinians when it used rubber bullets to disperse them.

Al-Tamimi said that the two men received medical treatment at the scene. The Israeli army said the soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters after the leftist activists began to hurl stones against them.

In the village of Bil’in, dozens of Palestinian, Israeli and foreign activists suffered from gas inhalation after Israeli soldiers fired tear gas against them during the weekly anti-separation wall demonstration.

The Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil’in said that the demonstration was organized this week to mark the occasion of Palestinian Prisoner Day and in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners Fakhri and Nael Al-Barghouthi who have been incarcerated in Israeli jails for 34 years.

The committee said that a British parliamentary delegation, Jamal Zaqout, the adviser of Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, Palestinian female writer Liana Bader and representatives of Palestinian factions attended the demonstration.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli forces used violence to disperse leftist protesters in the village of Al-Mi'sarah, to the south of Bethlehem.

Mohammed Braijeyeh, the spokesman of Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bethlehem, said that ten activists suffered from tear gas inhalation.

Braijeyeh added that the demonstration was organized this week in solidarity with murdered Israeli-Arab actor and peace activist Juliano Mer-Khamis.

Mer-Khamis was shot by a masked assailant who fired at him while he was sitting in his car near the Freedom Theater he established in the Jenin refugee camp.

The Palestinian Authority arrested several Palestinians in connection with his murder.
