- RIYADH: A summary court in Riyadh sentenced a thief to three years in prison and 600 lashes for stealing a pickup van.
- Police arrested the man after the van’s Yemeni driver informed them about the theft.
“The Yemeni also told the police that there was SR3,000 in cash inside the pickup, which belonged to his company,” a security source said.
Police found the vehicle with a person in Tathlith.
“After investigation, the man admitted that he had stolen the pickup and ran away with it to Tathlith.”
Riyadh police has transferred the case to Riyadh prison to carry out the court verdict against the thief, the source added.
