Ghassan Daghlas said that occupiers from nearby settlement of Yitzhar arrived at the Ourif village, to the southwest of Nablus, and set fire to vehicle owned by citizen Ali Issa. He added that the occupiers tried to destroy an electric generator in the area.

Daghlas added that the some 50 occupiers from the Yitzhar settlement attacked the eastern part of Assira al-Qibleyeh and clashed with Palestinian citizens.

Hosni Saleh, the head of Assira Al-Qibleyeh village’s council, said that the windows of several homes were smashed by some occupiers’ stones. Saleh added that the occupiers hurled Molotov cocktails at citizens’ houses.

Saleh added that resident Abdulsalam Ahmed was wounded after occupiers hit him in the chest with a stone. He received medical treatment from Palestinian paramedics.

The Israeli army confirmed the attacks on Assira al-Qibleyeh and said soldiers arrived at the area to separate the two sides.

Meanwhile, the occupiers from the Nofim settlement barred Palestinian farmers of Deir Istya village from reaching their agricultural farms.

Nazmi Salman, the head of Deir Istya village’s council, said that the occupiers and the settlement’s security barred the farmers from reaching the Khirbet Shihadeh area, to the west of the village.

Salman added that the occupiers’ move came days after Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak approved the settlements’ zoning plan.

He warned that the occupiers may seize control over the village’s lands to expand the settlement of Nofim.

The Jewish occupiers have increased their acts of harassment against Palestinians in the West Bank as part of the their "price tag" policy, intended to pressure the Israeli government away from making concessions regarding settlement building in the West Bank.

In September 2010, the US-brokered peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians collapsed after Israel refused to extend a 10- month moratorium over freezing settlement constructions in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The Palestinians have been seeking to get international recognition of their state within the 1967 borders in response to the breakdown of peace talks with Israel after the Israeli government resumed building settlements in the West Bank in September.
