He emphasized the need for preparing the facilities to develop the various skills of young people. “The forum will play a significant role in building man. Its role will be different from the district centers,” he said.

Prince Khaled, who recently met with a group of young Saudis, said: “Our youth are knowledgeable, intelligent people with a clear vision. They can achieve successes in various fields. They are luckier than us as they can get whatever information they need easily and quickly.”

He said people and organizations should put their confidence in the youth in order to make use of their capabilities and potentials. “We may be sometimes hesitant saying they are not experienced. How can they achieve experience if we don’t give them opportunities to participate?”

Youth from different parts of the province will meet in Jeddah after taking part in local-level cultural, educational and sports contests. “This year, youth from all major cities and towns in the province are taking part in the forum. All public and private sectors should contribute to the success of this forum, which offers a real opportunity for building a new generation,” the governor said.

He said it was possible for other provinces to make use of the good experience of the Makkah youth forum. He also spoke about the proposed King Abdullah Stadium.

“Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is very much keen on this project,” he said, adding that the initiative would be implemented shortly.
