“This brings to seven the total number of undocumented Filipino women staying with their children at the BK and who had been sent home by the Philippine Embassy and the POLO through the cooperation of the local authorities,” a POLO official told Arab News on Monday.

The BK is a government facility where stranded Filipino women workers stay while their repatriation is being worked out with the local authorities.

The three Filipino women were identified as Ramly Kusain from Sinsuat, Maguindanao; Luz Cabrera from San Luis, Pampanga; and Halima Naslo from Talayan, Maguindanao. Their children were all girls between the ages of one and three.

“Four more are also awaiting repatriation. They had been at the BK for quite sometime. Everything is in the hands of the local authorities who, incidentally, have been very cooperative,” the official said.

Earlier, the POLO repatriated four others. They were Mona Lisa Hamid Ibrahim who left with her three-year-old baby girl; Noraima Adam with her three-year-old baby boy; Cristine Moquia with her three-year-old baby boy; and Evelyn Gura with her baby girl.

“The undocumented Filipino women workers were repatriated with their children on a first-come, first-served basis,” the official said.

The women ran away from their sponsors, which rendered them illegal residents. They later become pregnant. As a last resort, they sought the help of the POLO for their repatriation.
