- RIYADH: An agreement was signed on Monday to create a major Saudi-Australian company that will target the construction sector where the government had previously announced it would invest more than SR100 billion on commercial, industrial, health and educational projects over the next three years.
- The new joint-venture, named UGL Services, will initially focus on providing facilities management services and property services to government and private sector clients.
On behalf of the Riyadh-based National TriGeneration CHP Company (NTCC), Salah Al-Afaliq, NTCC managing director and CEO inked the accord. David Nelson signed the deal on behalf of the UGL Services, an Australia-based international property and facilities management company. The event followed by a press conference at Novotel Hotel in Riyadh and was attended by a number of top company executives and diplomats, including Australian Ambassador Kevin Magee.
Speaking on this occasion, Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, NTCC chairman, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with UGL Services in this joint venture. They are a proven and successful property services company with a strong international presence and possess an excellent track record in the Middle East. This joint venture will contribute to the development plan that the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has recently approved,” he added.
Referring to the business prospect in the region, Nelson said that Saudi Arabia was an important market where the joint venture with the NTCC “will enable us to deliver integrated property services.”
