- RIYADH: A workshop titled "Saudi-Japanese relations: Future Prospects", which was held as part of the cultural activities of the Janadriyah Festival, highlighted the historic ties between the two countries.
Dr. Kasai, one of the speakers, spoke about the spread of Islam in Japan. "Islam talks about the relationship between man and his creator," he said, adding that the Islamic faith attracted a large number of Japanese.
Dr. Masoud Dhahir noted the Japanese people's hard work to make their country the second largest economic power in the world. "They maintained this position for 30 years," he pointed out. Dr. Tami underscored the strong relations between the two Asian giants.
Meanwhile, Dr. Moussa Muhammad Omar Saeed, vice president of the Islamic Center in Japan, commended festival, saying it gives an opportunity to discover the self as well as to know the views of others.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, he noted the significance of a seminar on Islamophobia at the festival, saying it was a good move to link the fest with contemporary developments in the world.
He praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his support to Islamic activities and Muslims all over the world.
