MWL Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Turki said the delegations would be dispatched ahead of an international conference, which the organization plans to hold in Makkah on July 23-25 under the title “The Islamic World: Problems and Solutions.”

“The delegation will hold consultations with prominent personalities in order to reach a solution for crises and conflicts in the light of the correct Islamic vision based on the Qur’an and Sunnah,” the MWL chief said.

He said Muslim leaders and intellectuals from all over the world would be invited to take part in the three-day conference to discuss solutions for the problems facing the Islamic Ummah.

“It is the duty of Muslim leaders and scholars to discuss solutions for the various problems facing Muslims across the world,” Al-Turki said.

He denounced the interference of foreign forces in the internal affairs of Muslim countries, instigating sectarian violence and creating division among the followers of different schools of thought. “This is a dangerous development,” he added.

The MWL intends to invite prominent scholars and Muslim leaders to the Makkah conference to review the present situation of the Ummah and propose solutions for its various problems and challenges.

He referred to a pledge made by Muslim scholars five years ago that would cooperate to strengthen Islamic unity and correct the mistakes being committed by Muslim communities.

“The Islamic nation is currently facing many challenges. It is the duty of scholars and educationists to confront them by studying its reasons and propose Islamic solutions for them,” the MWL chief said.
