KAU-Community College (KAU-CC)is one of the colleges of King Abdulaziz University (KAU). Formerly known as Jeddah Community College, the KAU-Community College, formerly known as Jeddah Community College, is committed to serving the community at various levels in accordance with the functional needs of the job market for both government and private sectors, as well as coping with the modern international development trend. The college known as one of its kind is poised for a quantum leap in the development of professional and technological education. “It strives to educate and nurture the untapped talent of youth needed for challenging tasks of contemporary world. It aims to provide high quality education accessible to students from different strata and regions of the society,” said Professor Ibrahim Ismail Kutbi, dean of KAU-Community College.

The college offers educational and training programs, which give the community members the required education, skills and experience, and improve their educational and practical qualification, aside from educating them on the work culture to benefit from the present technical advancement. It serves the community, provides and develops the manpower through developing cooperation with government and private sectors. KAU-CC has three academic departments — Computer and Information Technology (CIT), Department of Business Information Technology (BIT) and Department of Health Information Technology (HIT).

In addition, the college has the supporting department of General Required Courses(GRC). These programs were carefully selected according to the best scientific standards and after a series of consultative workshops with educationists and experts to meet the needs of the labor market. The first year at JCC is a preparatory year for most of its students with nine credit hours that focus on English, computer science and math. Students have to pass the subjects in one year to move on to the next year and specialize in one of the majors available. Students also study work ethics and communication skills during their second and third year in the college.

The available eight Associate degree programs (3 years duration) at the college are: Computer Graphic Design (64 credit hours), Computer Networking (64 credit hours), Marketing (64 credit hours), Accounting (64 credit hours), E-commerce (64 credit hours), Insurance (66 hours), Pharmacy (66 Hours) and Sales (36 hours).

The college applies the credit hour system decided by the Council of KAU. Each academic year is divided into two major terms, each 18 weeks in length in addition to a separate 8-week summer term. Duration of each program is three years (6 semesters) except sales, which is for one & half years (3 semesters). Fees and duration can be reduced as a result of TOEFL based English Exemption Test.
