- JEDDAH: Saudi and Dubai companies have joined hands to form a new joint venture to serve the booming construction sector.
The firms — Saudi Building Materials Co. (SBM) of Saudi Arabia and BRM Construction LLC of Dubai — signed the deal in Jeddah on Wednesday.
The new joint venture named SBRM will be in Jeddah.
The SBM, established in 1978 as a Saudi Finland joint project, claims to have specialized in supplying and exporting high quality ready-mix concrete in the Western Region.
BRM was founded in 2003 and quickly became one of the largest local suppliers of slipform in the Middle East.
BRM General Manager Nihad Al Hashemi said the new idea of slipform comes as a successful outcome of this alliance and that contributes to make BRM one of the leading companies in the field of concrete industry in the Middle East.
Slipform is a self-climbing wood formwork characterized by safety and effectiveness in the implementation of buildings in an excellent way and in a short time, Al Hashemi added.
Mohammed Jameel, SBM spokesman, said: “After many years of experience in the field of ready-mix concrete, and from our desire to evolve in the construction boom in the region and to provide a stronger and more robust concrete solutions to our customers, we have a great pleasure to support this experience with the most advanced technology in the field of slipform provided by the BRM.”
