The seventh-seeded Davydenko, who won the Munich tournament in 2004, led 6-3, 4-0 when the Czech quit.

Davydenko had treatment on his foot in the first set.

In the final, Davydenko will play fifth-seeded Florian Mayer, who beat fellow German Philipp Petzschner 6-3, 6-4.

Mayer will be seeking his first ATP Tour title and hoping to become the first German to win the BMW Open since Philipp Kohlschreiber in 2007. He is the highest ranked German player at No. 35 and advanced to his first final of the year.

In his previous three appearances in Munich, Mayer never got past the first round.

"I think I played a nearly perfect match," Mayer said after winning against Petzschner for the third time in three matches. Both come from the southern German town of Bayreuth.

Mayer and Davydenko are 2-2 in head-to-head matches.

In Belgrade, top seed Novak Djokovic reached the Serbia Open final without hitting a ball on Saturday after fellow Serb Janko Tipsarevic pulled out of their semifinal with a thigh injury.

Djokovic, who will enter Sunday's final with a 26-0 record in 2011 after winning four tournaments in a row including the Australian Open in January, meets Feliciano Lopez after the Spaniard beat Italy's Filippo Volandri 7-6, 6-2.

Tipsarevic said after the quarterfinals he was looking forward to battle with close friend Djokovic, but the injury he sustained in a strength-sapping win over Somdev Devvarman will also force him to miss next week's Madrid Masters.

"Tipsarevic was forced to withdraw from the tournament with a right leg injury and the world number 36 will also skip the Madrid Masters next week," the Serbia Open organizers said on their website (www.serbiaopen.rs).

Djokovic will start as the strong favorite against world No. 37 Lopez having won all three of their previous meetings, the latest en route to his 2011 Dubai Championships title.

In Estoril, Portugal, second seed Fernando Verdasco will face up and coming Canadian Milos Raonic in the semifinals of the Estoril Open here on Saturday after the pair each finished up rain-interrupted matches which began on Friday.

Verdasco, fighting to return to the ATP Top 15, overcame South African seventh seed Kevin Anderson 6-7 (2/7), 6-2, 6-3 while the 27th-ranked Raonic beat fourth-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon, 7-6 (7/4), 4-6, 6-3.

Raonic beat Verdasco in two previous meetings this season, in the San Jose final - the first title for Raonic - and a week later in a Memphis first round.

Raonic won with seven aces and five breaks of the Simon serve, taking two-and-a-half hours to go through in his first ATP season on clay.

Simon lead 5-6 when play was suspended by darkness on Friday, and returned to drop the set in a tiebreaker, Raonic went down two breaks in the second, but recovered before Simon again took a lead to level the match at a set each.

In the third, the Frenchman saved two match points before Raonic prevailed.

The first semifinal will feature Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay against his good friend Juan Martin del Potro, the Argentine eighth seed, who is building up some form after missing much of 2010 recovering from wrist surgery.

Saturday's women's final at the Estadio Nacional was also interrupted by the rain.

However, Spain's Anabel Madinah Garrigues came back out after the pause to round off her victory against German Kristina Barrois 6-1, 6-2 in 75 minutes with six breaks of her 29-year-old opponent's serve.

Madinah Garrigues was playing her first WTA final of the year, but 16th of her career and first since 2009. The Spaniard now holds nine clay titles, level with leader Venus Williams among active players.
