Federal government Home Secretary G.K. Pillai says a search will resume with daylight Sunday.

Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu was traveling Saturday with two other passengers and two pilots from the Buddhist mountain retreat of Tawang to the state capital of Itanagar. Skies were clear when the helicopter took off, but conditions became cloudy and rainy as it neared the Sella Pass over the Himalayas.

Two Indian air force helicopters could not find the aircraft during a search of the mountains where it lost radio contact.
