The GACA will sign on Monday agreements with various government departments such as Customs, Airport Security, Passports, Airport Police and Airport Traffic as well as Saudi Arabian Airlines to ensure better services to passengers.

In accordance with the agreements, the staff of the various service providers including government departments and airlines would be given intensive training on how to deal with passengers nicely, matching with global standards.

The agreements will be signed during a ceremony at the office of Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed in the presence of GACA President Faisal Al-Sugair.

All departments and agencies at KAIA, having direct contacts with passengers, are required to provide quality training to their employees in order build confidence among passengers and develop a culture of achieving customer satisfaction.

Under the agreement, a comprehensive world-class training material would be given to service providers on how to serve clients at airports. The training program aims at improving staff attitude and response; explaining client expectations and ways to achieve customer satisfaction; airport management and services and enhancing communication skills.

“This program will contribute to developing the capabilities of employees working at the airport and improving their performance,” a GACA official said, adding that it would encourage employees and service providers at the airport to take care of the rights and requirements of passengers.

He said the move would enhance the Kingdom’s reputation at national and international levels. “If a passenger faces any problem at any point of service at the airport it would a leave a bad impression in his mind about the airport,” he said.

GACA had earlier applied this training program at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh after signing similar agreements with government departments and other service providers in the first quarter of this year.
