- JEDDAH: As the municipal elections in the Kingdom draw near, there are reports of some unscrupulous candidates resorting to illegal methods to attract voters.
- A candidate in the cattle breeders' town of Al-Shadakh, in the Umluj municipality, believes he will attract voters by distributing them cattle feed free of cost.
Al-Madinah newspaper reported on Saturday that the candidate promised to offer five bags of barley for each vote in his favor. Currently, there is a shortage of cattle feed in the region and local cattle farmers are worried about spiraling barley prices. However, many voters have said they would report the candidate to election authorities.
