The conference aims to help the students build their research skills, which does not stop at studying the syllabuses, doing their homework or prepare notebooks only, but includes learning how to prepare files and working papers for conferences and how to make presentations.

Supervisor of the activities for the girl students at the Department of Girls’ Education and chairperson of the organizing committee Amal Al-Harqan said the conference is also aimed at teaching the girl students how to behave like researchers and educated persons.

“The conference is aimed at enabling the students to upgrade their research skills,” she added. On her part, director of the department of girl activities Malka Al-Barakati said that more than 170 research works were presented, out of which the judging panel had chosen nine research works to be presented during the two-day conference. She said the judging panel consisted of women academics from Umm Al-Qura University and the department of girl education.

“There are five individual and four group researches that will be presented in four sessions at the rate of two sessions a day,” she said.

Al-Barakati said the winning research would receive a prize consisting of a cash amount of SR 3,000 and a merit certificate.
