- JEDDAH: Princess Adilah bint Abdullah, chairperson of the National Charitable Foundation for Home Healthcare, on Monday launched a yearlong health awareness campaign titled “Your Health is in Your Cleanliness.”
The foundation said 200 volunteers would lead the campaign aimed at improving the level of personal hygiene. The first phase will cover 50 families who are beneficiaries of a charitable society.
“Cleanliness is the best way to protect against diseases,” the foundation said, adding that members of the various youth initiative programs as well as sociologists would take part in the campaign.
“Families that abide by the program will be rewarded by providing them with some materials and services that would help maintain cleanliness of the environment, such as cleaning water pipes, increase ventilation openings and cleaning water tanks.
The program includes an open meeting with the participating families when lectures on personal and public cleanliness will be given.
The foundation was established by Princess Hussa bint Tarad Al-Shualan in 1997. A number of organizations, including the Directorate of Health in Jeddah and the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, are taking part in the campaign.
