“Tonight we are hosting a silent auction of stunning photography from the region’s most celebrated photographers, as well as our nation’s very own emerging talent,” said Alakeel. “We hope that people will join us by supporting this noble initiative in which together we will be able to give back to the community of the world.”

The Toby by Hatem Alakeel The Toby Peace People Series will be exhibited in Jeddah at Athr Gallery. Guests are invited to view the limited edition images that will be up for silent auction, as well as granted access to other multi-editions may be directly ordered and purchased.

Toby Peace is an organic nonprofit organization that is constantly evolving in order to best give back to local communities. Depending on the location and needs of the respective community, specific charities are selected to be the recipients of the Toby Peace Fund.

As you may or may not be aware, Jeddah was the victim of torrential downpours that left the city flooded and in dire distress in January. The devastation of the floods affected thousands of individuals and even proved fatal to countless others.

By asking both established and emerging Arab photographers to donate images that represent their artistic interpretation of what peace means to them, we hope to draw attention and raise funds for two local schools: Dar AlSalam and the Bangladesh International School in Jeddah English Section (BISJES), both of which were particularly affected with entire structures of their facilities collapsing. We are privileged to have celebrated photographers Reem Al-Faisal and Shurooq Amin are already committed to our cause, as well as local talents, Sara Binladen and Helmy Alsagaff.

In addition to being on the Board of Advisers, art connoisseur, Sheika Lulu Al-Sabah, will also be hosting the auction. With a stellar guest list, including the region’s most celebrated socialites and inspiring forward-thinkers, tonight’s auction is sure to garner sufficient funds in order to make a difference in the lives of these students.
