The Vienna-based company says Wednesday its net income for the first three months of the year was 365 million euros ($525.9 million) compared with 346 million euros during the same period of 2010.

OMV CEO Gerhard Roiss says the political turmoil in North Africa and the Middle East did not leave OMV’s production unscathed but that high oil prices contributed to an operating result that was “well above that of previous quarters.”
