- DUBAI: Saudi Electricity Co has picked HSBC Holdings and Deutsche Bank for a potential dollar-denominated bond issue, two banking sources said.
Timing of the bond issue, which would be an Islamic bond, or sukuk, was still uncertain, one of the sources, speaking on condition of anonymity said.
The dollar issue would be the company’s first foray into global capital markets. It has so far issued only domestic sukuk.
SEC plans to invest $80 billion to boost capacity to at least 70,000 megawatts by 2020 from an installed capacity of 50,000 MW to meet domestic demand rising at eight percent annually.
