- JEDDAH: An Arab woman was found murdered in Jeddah's Mushrefa district, Al-Madinah reported Thursday.
The suspect in the case claims the victim's husband hired him to kill the woman in return for SR5,000 and a work visa.
Police had not believed the suspect's story by the time the report was published. Investigators say they have DNA evidence proving the suspect's crime. Fingerprints on the gas canister used to douse the home with fuel to light it also point to the suspect, they added.
The evidence reportedly led to the man's confession following an investigation that interviewed 15 persons of interest, including the husband, the woman's brother and the building superintendent.
The suspect said the husband also provided him with keys to the apartment. There was no sign of forced entry at the crime scene. The body was found bound with tape and gagged. The husband denies any involvement in the crime.
