According to a report carried by a local Arabic daily, the visitor attacked the guard and caused deep injury to the back of his head.

The guard was admitted to the hospital’s emergency ward. Faisaliyah police in Madinah have launched an investigation. 

The Saudi attacked the guard when the guard prevented his child from entering the hospital.

According to hospital rules, children are not allowed to visit patients. Witnesses said the Saudi went into the hospital with his wife and child without listening to the guard’s instruction. The guard then blocked their way and asked the visitor to get permission from the manager in charge.

But the Saudi threw a flask containing hot tea at the guard, injuring him. The Saudi was immediately overpowered and handed over to police.

Shahat expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. “Unfortunately such incidents are increasing and authorities should take measures to protect our staff from potential attackers,” he said.
