Participants from different age groups starting from four year olds took part in this event. Teams were organized in different colors and groups based on their age. The competition was between teams of fathers and sons in various disciplines, with other family members cheering on their loved ones from the sidelines.

Omar Abdul Salam, the head coach for the Jeddah United Basketball Division said, "The event attracted 12 teams and over 300 people."

A nonprofit group known as Development Makers Association (DMA) consisting of 11 young Saudis, were of great support for Jeddah United Team, directing the audience and guiding the kids to different stations.

Another youth group that put on an amazing show for the audience were the Jeddah Football Freestyle Crew (JFFC) who showed off their footballing skills and talent.

Luna for Electronics provided more than 15 electronic items such as (Plasma TVs, toasters, washing machines and blenders). Nour Fityani, from the women participants, won one of the plasma TV's in a three-point shooting event.

Participants also received gifts from Soccer Scene, who provided packs of soccer balls and sports bags.

Mohanned Jeddawi, the head of support & operations in Jeddah United, said, "This event was the best Father and Son event because there were many family sports activities for the participants and each participant received a trophy. Our aim was to make everyone happy."

Obaid G. Madani, the managing director of JUSC, said that the main objective of this event is to promote sports in a positive, healthy and fun environment for the participants and their families. He also added, that with this type of event, it creates a strong family bonding through sports activities. Al Baik was the main sponsor for the 5th Father and Son Event for 2011.
