- JEDDAH: A delegation from Egypt’s General Authority for Investment (GAFI) visited the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) on Sunday and discussed prospects of expanding economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
The Egyptian team comprised Eva Seddick, a senior official of GAFI, Saeed Al-Anani, minister plenipotentiary at the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah and Muhammad Jabir Abu Al-Wafa, director for the Arab region.
The Saudi side was represented by Mazen Batterjee, deputy chairman of JCCI, Saleem Al-Harbi, a member of the board, Hassan Dahlan, deputy secretary-general and a number of businessmen.
The Egyptian officials highlighted new investment opportunities in their country, especially in tourism, agriculture, industry and infrastructure.
They explained the incentives offered to investors.
The two sides also discussed matters related to setting up a joint bank with a capital of one billion Egyptian pounds.
Saudi investments in Egypt have reached 30 billion pounds with real estate and tourism taking the lion’s share of 70 percent.
